"mind blowing pictures"

Most professional yet fun, great eye for thinking outside the box, and mind blowing pictures. I chose Impressions Photography after reviewing more than 50 photographers sites. Krista and her team became one of the family from first interaction. At a time emotions run high and problems come up, they just cared so much, were so helpful, and really made my big day more special then imagined. Our wedding of 120 guests all felt so welcome to ask for specific photos and were blown away with how versatile their team was. Impressions Photography does just that impresses from their interaction with even the venue and the band, just above and beyond in ways most photographers do not take the time or have become per-programmed from doing the same thing over and over. If you are able to definitely do the whole weekend with them, it is so nice to have shots from our welcome drinks and rehearsal dinner, to our after hours the night of the wedding, and the morning after guest breakfast. They put in long hard days for us and I can't sat thank you enough! I can't speak highly enough of them and say if you choose them for anything engagement photos, wedding photos, or the whole destination wedding weekend you will always have the most brilliant experience, team, and memories...they live up to their name and are 6 stars in my eyes!!!! - Cassandra & Dan - Salisbury House, Des Moines, Iowa

"perfectly captured every moment"

Krista was such a joy to work with during our entire wedding process. From getting to know us during our engagement shoot, by the time wedding day came, we were both comfortable and at ease. We knew the pictures were going to be amazing, but when it's impossible to pick less than 200 favorites, you know they're special. We both looked at each other and said "that was a great decision." We can't wait to make our album and continue to obsess over our pictures, which perfectly capture every moment of our best day! - Kim & Grant - South Seas Island Resort, Captiva Island, Florida

"extremely professional"

It's a little bit hard for me to talk about Krista without coming across as a little over-exuberant. It's not because I'm given to excessive praise, though - it's that she's that good.
We got married in New Orleans, and Krista and Emily came to photograph the wedding and reception and rehearsal. The pictures are beautiful. The composition is just outstanding. But more than that, Krista captured the wedding exactly as I hope to remember it. None of the over-serious stuff that I saw in so many other vendors. Just beautiful pictures of smiling people - sometimes a little silly, but mostly just happy. Krista somehow manages to capture the feeling of the moment *perfectly*. And I'm doubly happy because the pictures are going to be what we keep from the thing, after all.
The pictures are about half of it. The other half is how just utterly pleasant Krista and Emily were to work with. They're charming, and pleasant, and tactful, and extremely professional. I'm reasonably confident one leads into the other - because she's so easy to work with, the pictures come out that much better. - Brooke & Hank - New Orleans, Louisiana

"Amazing to work with"

Krista is amazing to work with! She is so sweet and compassionate, and you can tell she really loves what she does. She made sure right from the beginning that she was giving us exactly what we wanted with our pictures on our wedding day. She asked about priorities, style, and overall what we were looking for. When we received our pictures, they were perfect! There were so many to choose from and really captured our wedding beautifully. - Bari & Frank - Tarpon Lodge, Pine Island, Florida

Hello! I'm Krista, I'm the very fortunate photographer behind all of these weddings and portraits.

First, a few professional facts:

  • I hold my Bachelor's Degree in Photography from RIT in New York
  • I have been photographing weddings and families full-time for over 20 years in Southwest Florida
  • I photographed my first wedding when I was in high school and have since photographed over 1,000 weddings
  • I have photographed weddings in 19 different states and 8 foreign countries
  • My work has been featured in dozens of National wedding magazines and online publications

As for me personally, my biggest hobby is actually photography too. I have had a camera somewhere close to me since I was 5 years old and have never professionally done anything else. I grew up in Pennsylvania and my husband is from Iowa so I frequently find myself between those two areas (and often photographing weddings in PA and IA), but I have actually lived in Fort Myers now for the greater part of my life.

Outside of photography, I'm a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (former sideline photographer here), I have a pretty extensive cactus collection and a huge love of show tunes and theater. I'm also a volunteer-aholic. I'm a mentor with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the Florida Take Stock in Children program where I work with high school students every week. I am a sponsor and volunteer for Big Arts on Sanibel Island. I have worked with UNICEF, including advocating for the organization on Capital Hill in Washington D.C.. I have started a church ministry to welcome new people into the community, I have led several photography summer camps and I have offered my photography skills to countless other charities and non-profit organizations. I love any opportunity to meet and help people, which is definitely just one more reason why I love being a wedding and portrait photographer too.

I have a wonderful family. My husband and I have been married for four years (destination wedding in the Bahamas, so I personally know wedding planning from afar). We have a combined five daughters (yep, five!). I have two amazing pups, Vannie (a tiny yet vocal Chihuahua) and Lyla (a wannabe hunting dog/Weimaraner) who are my furry family. Check out #VanGoes to see the adventures of Van and Lyla (because of course my dog has his own hashtag!). There's also a fun feature on The Daily Dog Tag blog, with my two loves!

My other obsession is travel. I will get on an airplane to go anywhere on a moment's notice. I love that destination weddings have me hopping time zones too. My first Caribbean wedding back in 2006 had me hooked on destination weddings and I think I've just kept my bags packed ever since. I have photographed weddings in St. Lucia, Barbados, Bahamas, Mexico, Nevis as well as all over the United States. I have actually made it a personal goal to photograph a wedding in every state (I'm half way there!), so don't be shy to reach out even if you are planning your wedding in Wyoming :)
